The Good
Old Days

The Electronic Age Has It’s Pros And Cons

What happens if all of sudden the electronics we are so dependent on stops working?

Whether it’s for a few minutes, hours or days it has an impact on our lives.

Recently our country has suffered multiple storms, wiping out small towns, destroying  livelihoods, and taking lives. It’s a sad time many will remember forever.

The effects of those storms made its way into the electronic world where all of sudden our precious VISA Debit cards would no longer work.

How could that be?

Computer servers that process card

transactions where in the path of some of these storms temporally knocking the servers offline,

AND card transactions came to a halt.

I remember a time when there were no Debit cards and many wrote checks or carried cash. Swiping has

spoiled us.

The electronic age has its pros and cons and the pros can make life easier but when the cons come along, it’s wise to be prepared.

(Now I know why my grandfather always kept a bill tucked away in his wallet for so called rainy days).

Believe it or not, there are still pay phones, stores that accept checks and even cash.

Let what happened be a warning. Electronics fail when satellites break, storms brew and power fails. Man cannot always control such matters. To those who witness this first hand, here’s to good old days when we didn’t have to worry about such things as a dying cell phone or worst, no signal. And I must add, I love being able to reach out on the internet but, it’s a real downer when the service goes down. Good Luck, tomorrow will bring some new electronic “toy” we just can’t wait to try.In the meantime, keep your stash for those rainy days.
